Assistant Fire Chief charged with DWI

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Officials with the City of El Paso confirmed that an Assistant Fire Chief was arrested on suspicion of DWI late last month.

According to court records, Assistant Fire Chief Jorge Cortez was booked Saturday, Sept. 23 on suspicion of Driving while Intoxicated.

He posted a $750.00 bond and was released from jail shortly after his arrest.

Ramon Herrera with the City of El Paso tells KTSM that "the matter is going through the Department's administrative process and he remains with the Fire Department."
