The El Paso Independent School District is gearing up to host its Discover EPISD Expo this weekend.
Melissa Martinez, Executive Director, Community Engagement, said the event gives families across the county the opportunity to learn more about the academic options at the district.
"It's an opportunity for parents, current and new perspective parents, to come out and learn about all the different programs options that we have," said Martinez.
The Expo will include stations with information on the program offerings, including specialized programs, "magnet" academies, and the latest in career and vocational training.
Martinez said personalized learning is key.
"It's no longer about going to school across the street, it's about finding best fit for you and your child's needs," said Martinez.
The free Expo is Saturday, Nov. 4th, from 10 a.m. To 2 p.m. In the UTEP Student Union.
District Superintendent Juan Cabrera said he hopes to see many families at the event.
"I'll be there, I want to talk to parents," said Cabrera. "For me, the excitement is you're going to have a lot of choice in our district across the city."
