EPISD is introducing a new app for parents, staff and students

EPISD is introducing a new app for parents, staff and students.

"It's a one-stop shop for our content on our website, our schools," said Melissa Martinez, Executive Director, Community Engagement.

EPISD parent Tracy Yellen said it's helpful as part of a busy family.

"The app is a great way for us to keep up-to-date with what's happening at the school," said Yellen.

According to the district, the app illustrates the district's initiative to actively engage parents in their child's education.

The new features include:
-A personalized activity stream that will center on your schools of choice
-Notification center that allows parents to receive campus messages
-Lunch menu and quick access to School Bucks, which allows you to add money to a student account
-bus routes
-Parent Portal access to check daily grades and teacher messages
-District-wide sports scores
-District news and photos
-Tip line with the ability to take photos and submit anonymously

"Our kids are great but we don't always get info home. So it's nice to have a place to see vacations, Facebook feeds, what's happening at this school," said Melissa Martinez, Executive Director of Community Engagement.

The app also includes emergency notifications.

"Through the mobile app, the push notifications-- Those are free," said Martinez.

The app is available now -- to download:

1. Search "El Paso Independent School District" in the App Store or on Google Play
2. Download the app
3. Allow El Paso ISD to send you notifications (if you would like to receive notifications on news, social media and emergencies)
