EPPD: Man With Drug Warrants Arrested With Cocaine, Marijuana During Traffic Stop

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - A 33-year-old man with several outstanding drug warrants was arrested during a traffic stop in Central El Paso after El Paso Police allegedly found marijuana and cocaine inside his car.

EPPD stopped a red 2013 BMW after the driver allegedly blew through a stop sign at the corner of Copia and Morehead around 9 p.m. Wednesday night.

When officer stopped the driver, identified as Manuel Enrique Gonzalez, 33, they reportedly learned that he had 18 individually wrapped packages of marijuana weighing 19.46 ounces and a baggie of cocaine weighing 7 grams.

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, police learned that Gonzalez had two outstanding warrants for Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 or 2A over 400 grams with a bond of $300,000 and Possession of Marijuana over 4 ounces - under five pounds with a bond of $7,500.

He was placed under arrest and booked on the two outstanding warrants and was additionally charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (cocaine) over 4 grams and less than 200 grams with a bond set at $30,000 and Possession of Marijuana Over 4 oz - Under 5 lbs with a bond of $10,000.

Gonzalez's bonds totaled $347,500.
