Hatch plane crash victims remembered

Destiny Family Christian Center holds vigil

As federal investigators try to piece together the cause of a plane crash just outside of Hatch, NM on Saturday, loved ones mourn the loss of four El Pasoans.

The single-engine plane went down around 5:30 Saturday night less than 1,000 feet after taking off from the Hatch airport. Kanequa Chancellor, a former UTEP basketball standout, her cousin, Malcolm Watkins, Christopher Howell, and Anthony Deramus died in the crash.

Howell and Deramus were leaders at Destiny Family Christian Center along with Chancellor, the church's young adult pastor.

A vigil was held Monday evening at Destiny Family Christian Center.

Details on funeral services to be posted as soon as they are announced.
