EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Several members of the community are getting their heads shaved Saturday to help raise funds and awareness of childhood cancer.
El Paso Children's Hospital and Hyundai of El Paso are partnering up to host the inaugural St. Baldrick's Head Shaving event, where survivor families, employees from El Paso Children's Hospital and Pizza Joint, Elite Health employees, and others will all participate.
Hospital officials say the goal is to raise $5,000 to help children with cancer find treatment.
UTEP cheerleaders, Paydirt Pete, and other local figures will be there to join in on the fun. Dave and Busters will also provide games and prizes.
"Donations raised at events like this support the development of childhood cancer treatments that are as unique as every kid," hospital officials wrote in a news release.
The event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hyundai of El Paso located at 8600 Montana.
