Khalid earns first American Music Award nomination

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - El Paso R&B superstar Khalid can add an America Music Award to the growing list of accolades the young singer racked up this year.

Early Thursday morning, Khalid's "Location" was nominated for Favorite Song - Soul/R&B at the AMAs. He's up against Bruno Mars "That's What I Like" and The Weeknd's "Starboy."

Earlier this year, 19-year-old Khalid earned an MTV Music Award for Best New Artist and has collaborated with multiple artists this year including Logic, Alessia Cara, Calvin Harris, Marshmello, Lorde and SZA.

He's currently on his world tour in Europe.
