Large fire breaks out in Northeast El Paso, one hospitalized

The El Paso Fire Department responded to a Condition 3 fire at a duplex in the Northeast El Paso Monday evening.

A 21-year old woman was transported to the hospital as a result of the fire, which broke out a little before 8p.m. in the 8900 block of Leo St and Moonlight near Hondo Pass.

Two adults and six minors were treated at the scene, but refused to be transported.

A spokesperson for EPFD says the fire spread to 50% of the duplex, but everyone inside self-evacuated.

Thirty-five firefighters responded as well as EPPD, El Paso Electric, Texas Gas, and the City's Planning and Inspections Department.

EPFD says it is still to early to say what caused the fire, but damages are estimated at about $130,000.

This is a developing story. More details to come as they become available.
