Las Cruces students to perform prior to Mannheim Steamroller concert

LAS CRUCES, NM (KTSM) - Students from several schools across Las Cruces are coming together, forming a single choir, to perform for the fans heading to the Mannheim Steamroller at the Pan American Center tonight.

About 20 students from Las Cruces High School, Mayfield High School, Oñate High School, and Alma d’ Arte Charter High School are taking part and will be performing holiday classics.

"I've never performed for such a big crowd before," Las Cruces High sophomore Jesse Lucero said.

They are expecting hundreds of fans to show up. Lucero says he's nervous but excited.

"I get so excited and nervous it's just going to be awesome," vocalist Brenna Peel explained.

The group has been practicing for weeks in preparation for the show.

The Mannheim Steamroller show starts at 7:30 P.M. there are several tickets left, according to the Pan American Center website.

The students will perform just before the main event starts.
