LCPD issues 26 traffic tickets during morning operations

LAS CRUCES, NM (KTSM) - Las Cruces Police officials say that they issued 26-traffic tickets combined during a traffic operation Tuesday and Wednesday mornin.

The operations were held on both Tuesday and Wednesday on Valley Drive near Picacho Ave. During the two-day operation, LCPD officers issued 18 traffic tickets to drivers using a cell phone and three tickets for not showing proof of insurance.

Five other tickets were written for driving on a suspended license, no seatbelt, expired license plate, no registration and running a red light.

LCPD plans on conducting additional traffic operations throughout the city in the near future.
