Annual winter safety and blanket drives kicks off

The Extreme Weather Task Force is kicking off its Winter Safety and Blanket Drive.

The organization says that as temperatures begin to drop the danger of dying from cold weather exposure for the elderly and needy families in our community increases.
They tell us they only have 40 blankets in stock right now and need the community's help.
You can drop off your donations at any fire station or county sheriff's sub-station.
The task force also says that as it gets colder remember to check on your elderly neighbors and family members.
