Author, Soldier PTSD Survivor Luis Carlos Montalvan Found Dead in Downtown Hotel Room

El Paso, Texas - El Paso Police say that renowned New York Times Best Selling author Luis Carlos Montalvan was found dead inside his downtown hotel room Friday night, foul play is not suspected.

Montalvan was a former Captain in the U.s. Army who was honorably discharged in 2007 after 17-years of military service. He was known for his NYT Best-Selling book Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him.

Montalvan was wounded during war and suffered from PTSD which was aided by the use of his service dog, Tuesday. Police have not said if Tuesday was with Montalvan when he was found inside the Indigo Hotel Friday night.

EPPD says that Montalvan's body was taken to the El Paso County Medical Examiners Office for a formal cause of death determination.
