El Paso, TX (KTSM) - Carrie Fisher has died, according to People.com. The actress suffered a serious heart attack last Friday on an international flight from London to Los Angeles.
Fisher, 60, is the daughter of Hollywood royalty's Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher and is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars Trilogy. Fischer's mom, Debbie Reynolds was born in El Paso.
In her later years, Fisher became a prolific author and an advocate for mental health after suffering from Bipolar Disorder since age 24.
Fisher was raised Protestant but often attended Jewish services, which was the faith of her father, Eddie Fisher. She was remembered for her many romances including Paul Simon and Dan Aykroyd. She was in a relationship with talent agent Bryan Lourd and had one daughter, Billie Catherine Lourd in 1992.
She is survived by her daughter Billie Lourd and mother, Debbie Reynolds.
