Chamber welcomes new president & CEO

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - The Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce on Thursday announced the hiring of David Jerome as the organization's new president and chief executive officer.

"Today is a momentous day for our organization, as we are welcoming a new CEO with unmatched operations and development experience," said Jack Chamber, 2017 Board Chair of the GEPCC. "David is a visionary and a strategist and has already proven himself as an agent for change in our community."

Jeromewho takes over for a retiring Richard Dayoub — comes with global connections. The former attorney worked overseas as an executive for General Motors in Asia, Anheuser-Busch in Belgium, and Intercontinental Hotels Group in London, where he's credited with developing the Hotel Indigo brand.

Jerome moved to El Paso three years ago and most recently served as a vice president for the Medical Center of the Americas.

"I wasn't lucky enough to be born here, but I was smart enough to choose El Paso," Jerome told KTSM, adding he feels the chamber is currently on a "good trajectory."

His first day on the job is December 14.
