Charges thrown out in 2015 homicide case

Negligent homicide charges have been dismissed for the man accused of instigating a fight over a parking dispute that led to the shooting death of a man in East El Paso.

The judge issuing a directed verdict for Raymond Roberts II saying prosecutors didn't provide enough evidence.

Roberts II was accused of instigating a fight with Shedrick Duffey along Pueblo Nuevo Circle back in August 2015 where Raymond Roberts Sr. ultimately shot Duffey twice in the chest in self-defense.

The El Paso Times reporting prosecutors will not be able to appeal the judge's ruling or retry the case since it would be considered double jeopardy.
