Debbie Reynolds' dressing room at The Plaza Theatre

EL PASO, TEXAS - The Plaza Theatre in Downtown El Paso is a historic building dating back to the 1930's. Something you may not know about the theatre is that it's home to a dressing room dedicated to Debbie Reynolds.

Reynolds, a classic film star from the golden age of Hollywood is also an El Paso native. The actress left the Borderland at a young age, only to return again many years later.

In 2010, Reynolds was invited by the El Paso Community Foundation to speak at The Plaza Classic Film Festival before the screening of  'Singin' in the Rain".

Eric Pearson with the community foundation remembers the day she was in town, he describes her as delightful and professional. She told stories about growing up in El Paso and Mexican food.

Debbie Reynolds may be gone but a piece of her will always live on in the borderland. Her dressing room at The Plaza Theatre, lined with her pictures will always serve as a reminder that she's El Paso's Hometown Star.
