Decapitated rabbit discovered in East El Paso neighborhood

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - A resident in an East El Paso neighborhood made the horrific discovery of a decapitated rabbit in front of their home in early November, according to El Paso Police.

On Friday, November 10, a resident in the 2000 block of Bob Gilder, near the intersection of Bobby Fuller, noticed something laying in front of their home. Upon further inspection, they realized it was the body of a decapitated white rabbit.

Investigators tell KTSM NewsChannel 9 the rabbit's head and front legs had been cut off. The legs were found next to the torso of the rabbit, but the head was missing. 

The type of crime is a State Jail Felony according to officials with the El Paso Police Department. Investigators with the Animal Cruelty Unit have taken over the case and are certain that someone has information on the person or people responsible for the torture of the rabbit.

The crime is featured as this week's 'Crime of the Week' in hopes of generating leads.
