DPS attempted to shoot at fleeing SUV

El Paso, TX (KTSM) - A chase involving a vehicle and a DPS Trooper overnight ended in East El Paso after a Trooper fired several shots at a fleeing SUV.

According to DPS Spokesperson Lt. Elizabeth Carter, the chase started around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday morning on Loop 375 and Edgemere when a Trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on a speeding Nissan Murano.

The driver of the Murano failed to stop and attempted to outrun the Trooper.

El Paso Police and DPS aircraft assisted in the incident, attempting to locate the suspect in the incident. As of Wednesday morning, no one was in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
