El Paso Police Officer Arrested After Five Month Investigation

El Paso, TX (KTSM) - For the second time in a week, an officer with the El Paso Police Department is behind bars charged with Sexual Assault.

Friday's arrest was a result of a five-month long investigation after a criminal complaint was filed against four year EPPD veteran Brian Michael Lujan. The cases involve three separate victims in three separate incidents that all happened while Lujan was on-duty as an officer assigned to the Pebble Hills Regional Command.

A spokesperson with EPPD says that two separate investigation into allegations against Lujan happened; a Criminal Investigation by the Special Investigation's Unit (S.I.U.) and a second administrative investigation by the Internal Affairs Division.

During the criminal investigation, EPPD requested assistance from the FBI. Friday, he was charged with one count of Sexual Assault and two counts of Invasive Visual Recording.

Lujan was arrested at an east El Paso home around 8 a.m. Friday and booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on a $325,000 bond. He remains in custody tonight.

Anyone with information regarding these cases is asked to call the El Paso Police Department's Internal Affairs Division at (915) 212-0157.

EPPD didn't release many details regarding the circumstances surrounding the alleged incidents or the victims who may have been involved. NewsChannel 9 will work to bring you those details as soon as they are available.
