EPPD: Two Speeding Drivers Arrested for DWI

El Paso, Texas (KTSM) - El Paso Police Arrested two drivers early Wednesday morning about a mile apart after they were both caught speeding and found to be intoxicated, according to police.

The first arrest happened just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 6600 block of Boeing near Airport when DWI Task Force members initially spotted a blue Saturn driven by 23-year-old Isaac Silvestre driving north on Airway at 47 MPH in a 35 MPH zone.

He was stopped for the speeding violation and officers found that he was allegedly intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI - Blood Alcohol Content above .15. His bond was set at $750.00.

In a separate incident around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, DWI task Force Officers spotted a red Dodge Dakota driving west in the 8200 block of Montana, just west of Hawkins. The driver was allegedly driving 63 MPH in a 45 MPH zone.

The driver, identified as 36-year-old Alberto Pena, was stopped for the speeding violation and officers also determined he was intoxicated. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for DWI 2nd offense. His bond was set at $1,500,

Both men have since posted bond.
