Father, daughter killed at Far East El Paso home

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - El Paso police tell KTSM a father and daughter were shot and killed at a home in Far East El Paso early Thursday morning.

The victims were only identified as a 45-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman.

Police were dispatched to the 14500 block of Ava Leigh Ave. around 3:45 a.m. The two-story corner home is located near Edgemere Blvd. and John Hayes St.

Investigators said the suspected gunman was identified as the daughter's boyfriend. That suspect's red pickup truck was found about four miles from the scene, crashed into a rock wall along Rich Beem Blvd. following a police chase.

Police had to release the names of anyone involved as of Thursday afternoon.

A neighbor along Ava Leigh told KTSM she saw the suspect and the daughter arguing before the shots rang out.  "He just grabbed her by the hair and pulled her inside," Maysum Medina said. "(A little girl) saw everything. She was only like 8 or 9."
