LCPD Warn of Pushy Perfume Solicitors

Las Cruces, NM (KTSM) - A pair of suspicious perfume salesman have Las Cruces Police warning residents, particularly women, to be on high alert.

LCPD received a complaint about the pair of men who have been approaching women at gas stations and in other business parking lots, asking them to sample and purchase perfumes. When the women smell the perfume, the women became dizzy and felt faint.

The two men also allegedly became aggressive with some people who refused to sample or purchase the perfumes they were selling.

According to police, there are no known legitimate traveling salesmen who are selling perfume on the street.

LCPD is suspicious that the techniques displayed by these salesmen may be an attempt to solicit or otherwise harm the unsuspecting customers.

The men were described as African American and were seen in an older-model Charcoal gray car with Nevada plates.

Anyone with information on who these individuals may be, or where they may be, is asked to call police at (575) 526-0795.
