Lunch of a Lifetime: Borderland teen's dream comes true

EL PASO, TEXAS (KTSM) - A young man's wish to taste the best cheeseburger in America has inspired a burger in his name in El Paso.

Levi is a 17-year-old with Wolfram Syndrome, which will eventually cause him to go blind.

Make A Wish has stepped in to grant Levi a wish and since his favorite food are burgers, his wish is to try Au Cheval's double cheeseburger in Chicago, ranked as the number one burger by Foodnetwork.

However, before the Make A Wish sends Levi and his family to Chicago, they've prepared a Borderland surprise, along with the local Cabo Joe's restaurant, which created a specialty burger in Levi's name.

According to the managing partner at Cabo Joe's, John Geske, it's a double patty with three cheeses, a special sauce and is served with the famous Cabo Joe's beer-battered fries.

"It's great, we all love it. We're all behind it, our whole staff is excited and we're just here to support," said Geske."

It got the seal of approval from Levi himself on Thursday. He and his family will be heading off to Chicago next week.

"I feel very grateful that this was able to happen and it does taste very good, I think on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it maybe a 12, it was delicious," said Levi.

Levi's Burger will be sold at both Cabo Joe's locations, one on Yarbrough and the other on Zaragoza, in east El Paso, but it will only be available Thursday through Sunday.

Fifteen percent of the proceeds from each Levi Burger sold this weekend will go towards the local Make A Wish chapter.
