Man arrested for allegedly impersonating peace officer

ARTESIA, NM - A New Mexico man is behind bars for allegedly impersonating a peace officer.

State Police say Andres Andrade of Artesia, NM was representing himself to the public as an "Officer of the Court" and using lights in his car to "flash traffic".

Officers made contact with Andrade when he was in his car wearing a makeshift police uniform. He reportedly showed an ID card and indicated that he worked for the court system as a process server.

A search of all Magistrate and District courts within the Fifth later revealed that he wasn't employed with any of them.
