Man suspected of burglarizing Socorro Mission arrested

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - A man suspected of burglarizing the Socorro Mission on Thanksgiving Day was taken into custody with the help of the El Paso and Socorrro police last week.

Miguel Perez, 35, of El Paso is charged with Burglary of a Building after investigators say he broke into the Socorro Mission Church ( La Purisima) on Nov. 23. Police say several items and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen from the church during the burglary.

Socorro and El Paso police were able to identify Perez as the suspect in the burglary. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on the burglary charge Dec.2 and several other theft charges from EPPD. 

His bonds totaled $48,000.
