Police arrest man for allegedly hiding camera in mall bathroom

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Police have arrested and booked Irving Jose Marquez, 28, for allegedly hiding a camera inside of a family bathroom in Cielo Vista Mall on April 22.

According to jail records, Marquez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility Tuesday on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Invasive Visual Recording in Bath/Dress Room.

Officials say the El Paso Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit arrested Marquez on Monday for his outstanding traffic warrants.

Upon executing a warrant for Marquez's residence, officers seized "several electronic devices" which led to his arrest and Possession of Child Pornography charge. He was booked under a $1,000,000 bond.

Officials say Marquez was re-booked Friday on the charge of Invasive Visual Recording on a $10,000 bond. Investigators say "numerous" people, males and females of all ages, were victims of this offense.

Investigators are asking anyone who used any of the mall's family restrooms, including that on the upper floor of Dillard's on April 22 between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:05 p.m., to call Detective B. Serna at (915) 212-4121 or (915) 212-4100.
