El Paso, Texas (KTSM) - The El Paso Sheriff's Office is hosting their 'Safety Town" event.
It's a week long event aimed at kids ages four to seven. At the camp, they will learn about fun safety with McGruff and others about traffic, pedestrian, and bike safety. They also learn about when it's appropriate to call 9-1-1.
Josie Ramirez a deputy for El Paso County Sheriff's Dept. says, "it's important so they know that we are here to help, and for them to not panic and be able to make that call and reach out to us."
The Sheriff's Dept says all parents should talk to their kids about safety.
