Students surprised with gifts from Aaron Jones

EL PASO, TEXAS (KTSM) - He may not be coming home for the holidays, but Green Bay Packer's Running Back Aaron Jones made sure his Christmas spirit was felt by students at East Point Elementary in his hometown of El Paso.

Jones says he and his family took part in the East Point Angels Program last year and it's something he didn't want to pass up this year.

Jones bought 21-bikes for 21-students ranging from Pre-K to the 6th grade. He also sent 12-food baskets for a couple of families in need, stocked with a ham and all the ingredients needed for a holiday dinner.

He says he always told himself that if he ever made it big, he'd want to give back to his community and this is just one of the ways the NFL player is doing that.

"Christmas is definitely one of my favorite holidays. It's a special time you get to spend with your friends and family and I can't be there in El Paso, but I wish I could be. This is one way I'm there," said Jones.

He tells KTSM he wished he could be here to see the kid's excitement for himself, but hopes this inspires them to pay it forward when they're older.
