TB Test Results Expected This Week

Around 100 Hanks HS students screened

EL PASO, TEXAS - The City of El Paso Public Health Department said test results should be available later this week for some Hanks High School students tested for a possible exposure to tuberculosis.

The public health department said more than 100 students were tested last week. As KTSM first reported, around 150 students were subject to testing after being around someone who had active TB.

Tuberculosis is spread when breathing in infected droplets from someone with the bacterial illness.
