Three arrested in connection to Alameda brawl, stabbing

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - El Paso Police arrested three people in connection to a stabbing and assault in South Central El Paso early Saturday morning.

Michael Ray Acosta, 26, Rafael Rodriguez, 21, and Jerrica Arredondo, 17, are each charged in the incident that resulted in the stabbing of a 20-year-old man and the beating of a 24-year-old woman.

According to police, a large fight broke out at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Alameda near Fox Plaza around 6:30 a.m. Responding officers say a large group of people attempted to run from the scene when they arrived.

Investigators determined that Acosta and Rodriguez allegedly beat and stabbed the male victim while Arredondo assaulted the woman. 

A 16-year-old juvenile was detained at the scene and turned over to the Juvenile Probation Department for Harassment of Public Servant, Failure to Identify, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Marijuana.

A 23-year-old woman and 19-year-old man were also charged with Public Intoxication after being detained at the scene.

Acosta's bond is set at $270,000 for Aggravated Assault. Rodriguez's bond is $50,750 for Aggravated Assault and Assault. Bond is set at $27,943 for Arredondo, also on charges of Aggravated Assault and Assault.

EPPD says the man who suffered stab wounds was taken to a hospital for treatment. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
