Three Charged in West El Paso Crime Spree

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - El Paso Police continue to investigate a series of robberies that happened last Monday, April 3, at various locations throughout west El Paso and have now charged three teens in the case.

According to investigators, the three suspects, identified as Hector Castillo, 19, Brandon Garcia, 18, and Eric Perez, 18, were working together around 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 3 when they entered the Westside Smoke Shop at 6990 Westwind and took several pipes without paying for them.

About two hours later, at 4:20 p.m. the three men approached a 17-year-old boy as he was walking in the 6300 block of Franklin View Dr. and pulled out a knife on him, pushed him and took his cell phone.  

About fifteen minutes later, the three allegedly approached an underage girl as she was walking in the 1100 block of Redd Rd. and took a cell phone from her.

As a result of the three robberies, Castillo, Garcia and Perez have been charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity - Theft, Theft above $100<$700 and Aggravated Robbery, EIOCA. EPPD is continuing their investigation and the three are being held on bonds ranging from $66,000 to $109,500 in the El Paso County Detention Center.
