As authorities continue to investigate Sunday's church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Tx., Newschannel 9 is learning more about how the suspected shooter died.

Guadalupe County Sheriff Arnold Zwicke said he believes a private citizen followed the gunman down the road.

Zwicke said he did not know if the man found dead in the car had been shot or if he was in a car accident.

Our crew on the scene were able to see the back window broken out of a white SUV.

Zwicke said there were two people following the suspected gunman, but could only offer limited details.

"We don't know at this time. There are road signs farther down the road. I'm not sure if lost control or he was shot. Or what happened. That's something the Rangers are investigating- an autopsy will be conducted tomorrow," said Zwicke.

The case is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.
