Wet N Wild Waterworld to debut new ride

ANTHONY, Texas (KTSM) - Wet N Wild Waterworld will open a new, family-friendly ride in the next four to five weeks, the water park announced Monday.

Jaguar Falls, the six-story family rafting ride that spans more than 42,000 square feet, will be the largest ride in the history of the 38-year-old facility, according to a news release.

In multiple-seater inner tubes, up to four people will all be able to twist and turn their way down the water slide together. Wet N Wild officials say riders can reach maximum speeds of 25 feet per second before an "exhilarating splashdown" finale.

Jaguar Falls, located in Wet N Wild's Jungle Park next to the Amazon ride, will also include a "high above ground" rope suspension bridge that will allow riders to return from the ride's catchpool area in a fun, jungle-themed manner.

"We are so excited to bring this ride to our park guests," Wet N Wild Co-Owner Chandra Edwards-Cottingham says. "They have been asking for something thrilling that they can ride with family and friends and we think this will make their summer dreams come true."

Wet N Wild Waterworld will open for the summer on May 6.
