Aggies set for kickoff in Arizona Bowl

TUCSON, AZ - In less than 24-hours, New Mexico State will have made history with their first bowl game appearance since 1960, where oddly enough, the opponent was Utah State in the Sun Bowl.

NMSU had their final practice of the season early Thursday morning at a local high school in Tucson.

"We got to the bowl, but we've never been champions of anything. We haven't won a conference championship, we haven't done anything like that, so you have a chance to be bowl champions. that's what I was telling the players after the South Alabama game. For the first time I got to tell them all they were winners. That was a great moment. I'd like to have the opportunity to tell them all they're bowl champions," said NMSU Head Coach Doug Martin.

The Aggies have meetings Thursday night, a walk-through Friday, and then they're hoping to take home a win.

The Nova Arizona Bowl is set for Friday at 3:30 pm MT. NMSU versus Utah State will be televised on CBS Sports.
