Las Cruces, NM - The New Mexico State volleyball team returns home to face tough competition at the Pan American Center. The Aggies take on Western Athletic Conference foes CSU Bakersfield on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. (MT) before facing off with Grand Canyon on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. NM State then encounters its Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico on Monday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.

Fans can tune into the Aggies matches against CSUB and GCU for free on the WAC Digital Network. NM State's match against UNM can be viewed live on FOX Sports Arizona, FOX College Sports Pacific, Altitude Sports, FOX Sports Southwest-Plus, Comcast New Mexico and ESPN3.
New Mexico State posts a .132 opponent hitting percentage, which ranks third nationally. Additionally, NM State ranks 39th in digs per set (16.74) which also ranks second in the league. The Aggies lead the conference in assists (12.80), kills (13.55) and opponent hitting percentage.
Individually, Ariadnne Sierra is averaging 5.05 digs per set which ranks 35th in the nation and is second in the WAC. Lia Mosher (1.02), Brielle Sterns (0.92) and Sasha-Lee Thomas (0.88) rank in the top-10 in the WAC for blocks per set. The trio ranks third, seventh and 10th, respectively. Kassandra Tohm (3.26) ranks seventh in kills while Tatyana Battle ranks 10th with 2.84.
In conference play alone, Thomas leads the league with a .393 hitting percentage, followed by Sterns, who is hitting .385. Tohm (3.58) and Battle (3.16) ranks in the top-10 for kills as they place fourth and sixth, respectively. Mosher is the lone freshmen in the top-10 for blocks as she has 23 blocks total for a 1.21 blocks per set average.
Sierra continues to move up in the New Mexico State all-time records. The libero ranks sixth all-time for career digs with 1,182 as she posted 328 digs this season. The senior is the WAC's active career digs leader. She only needs 22 digs to move into fifth place in the NM State record books and is 99 shy of fourth place.
Tohm put up record numbers on the Aggies' last road trip. The senior tied her career high in kills at Seattle U when she led the team with 17 in the match. She topped her career best at Utah Valley by tallying 24 kills in the five-set thriller. The outside hitter also tied her career digs record with seven in the match.
LAST TIME OUT
NM State swept Seattle U but fell to UVU in five on its last road trip. Against the Redhawks, Tohm led all players with 17 kills and was followed by Thomas, who posted 10. Briana Ainsworth recorded a double-double in the match with 20 assists and 10 digs. At UVU, Tohm and Thomas led the Aggies with 24 and 14 kills, respectively. Sierra tallied a match high 17 digs in the loss.
KNOW YOUR FOE: CSU BAKERFIELD
CSU Bakersfield comes to NM State with a 12-8 overall and 5-0 in conference play. The Roadrunners are riding a six-match winning streak, which includes a five-set win over Utah Valley. In their last match the CSUB squad swept Grand Canyon 25-22, 25-11, 25-21.
Haylee Roberts leads the 'Runners with a .306 hitting percentage and 198 kills this season. Fabiana Andrade and Sidney Wicks split the setting duties for CSU Bakersfield with Andrade averaging 6.66 assists per set and Wicks averaging 4.97. Emily Lopes leads the conference 434 digs this season as she averages 5.95 digs per set.
KNOW YOUR FOE: GRAND CANYON
Grand Canyon posts a 5-12 overall record and a 0-5 record in league play. Despite starting the season 3-0, the Lopes are on a seven-match losing streak with their most recent loss coming at CSU Bakersfield. The squad is winless at home and has only one win on the road.
Claire Kovensky leads GCU with 185 kills and a .210 hitting percentage. Emma Ahern leads the squad with 269 digs for a 4.27 digs per set average. The sophomore also leads the team with 16 service aces this season. Maria Adams posts 62 blocks, so far, this season with ten being solo blocks.
KNOW YOUR FOE: NEW MEXICO
The Lobos enter the weekend with a 10-8 overall record and a 2-4 record in Mountain West play. UNM picked up conference wins over Utah State and Wyoming before losing its last two matches. New Mexico posts a 2-5 record on the road with its last win as the away team coming at Wyoming.
Lauren Twitty leads the Lobos with 231 kills this season. Mariessa Carrasco posts a team-best .343 hitting percentage while also tallying 52 blocks. Carson Heilborn posts a team-high 594 assists this season which averages to 9.58 assists per set.
Following the match with New Mexico, the Aggies begin their second round of WAC play by taking on UT Rio Grande Valley at the Pan American Center on Oct. 21 at 11 a.m.
