El Paso High Swimming Takes 14 to State Championships

El Paso, TX - El Paso High School swim coach Dow Farley has been at this swim thing for quite some time, and this could be his best team in school history.  Farley is taking 14 EPHS swimmers to the 5A Swim State Championships in Austin, set to begin Friday, February 17 at the Texas Swim Center.

In 2016, he took 11 swimmers, and in 2015, he took ten.  14 is a school record.

Senior Victoria Garcia won state as a freshman in the 100 Butterfly, and says it never gets old, advancing to State.

"You know you think you might get used to it, but you really don't, it's different every year, and it's really exciting to get back in that atmosphere, and compete with all those people." Coach  Dow Farley added, "Victoria is fantastic, she was a leader even before she knew she could be a leader.  This year she is one of our co-captains on the girls, the captains have done a great job."
