NMSU Men's Basketball Inks Wallace for 2018

Las Cruces, NM - First-year head men’s basketball coach Chris Jans announced the signing of Cleburne High School standout Addison Wallace to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.

“Addison Wallace epitomizes what a student-athlete should be and we are ecstatic he has chosen to join our program,” Jans said. “He is an excellent student, fine young man and an outstanding basketball player. Addison’s body type, IQ and skill level will allow him to make an immediate impact once he arrives on campus. We are thrilled Addison is an Aggie!”

Wallace is a three-year letter winner heading into his senior season. As a junior, the 6-4 shooting guard led the Yellowjackets to their first playoff appearance in eight years with a 24-9 overall record and 10-4 mark in district play. For his efforts, Wallace was named the Johnson County MVP as well as District 9-5A Offensive MVP honors.

The rise of Cleburne High School has been a building process, but Wallace has been a cog in that rise. Since joining the CHS, the Yellowjackets have gone from five wins his freshman year to 24 wins this past season. During that time, Wallace has garnered multiple district honors as well as All-Johnson County recognition. On the AAU circuit, the Cleburne, Texas, product played with the Lone Star Elite.

New Mexico State opens its season at home at 7 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 10, against East Central University in the Pan American Center. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Pan American Center ticket office, over the phone by calling 575-646-1420 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
