Stellar 2017 Earns Jaleel Scott Senior Bowl Invite

Las Cruces, NM - On Tuesday afternoon, New Mexico State football wide receiver Jaleel Scott was invited to play in the 2018 Reese’s Senior Bowl which is set to take place on January 27 in Mobile, Ala.

Head coach Doug Martin commented on the accomplishment saying, “Our entire team is very excited and proud of Jaleel for this honor. It is a credit to all the hard work and sacrifice Jaleel has put in and he is very deserving of this. It also shows how far our entire program has come and we look forward to many more Aggie football players having this opportunity.”

Scott currently leads the Aggies in receptions (52), receiving yards (786) and receiving touchdowns (8). These numbers also have the senior ranked 10th in the nation in receiving touchdowns and 24th in receiving yards.

With his touchdown catch at Texas State, Scott moved himself into 10th all-time in receiving touchdowns (13), despite only playing for two seasons. In 2017, the receiver has set career highs in receptions (9) and yards (174) against Arkansas and caught a career-best two touchdowns in a game against both Arizona State and Georgia Southern.

With Scott’s invitation, he becomes just the fifth Aggie all-time to receive an invite to the Senior Bowl joining Jim Bohl (1967), Jim Germany (1975), Walt Williams (1977) and Andre Anderson (1978).

New Mexico State football is back in action against Louisiana on Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. MT at Cajun Field in Lafayette, La.
