UTEP Men's Golf Drops to 10th Place in Hawai'i

El Paso, TX - The UTEP men's golf team dropped three spots to sit in a tie for 10th place at the end of day two of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawaii. The team is tied with Washington after both fired a second round of 290. The Miners tallied 4-over-par 580 (290-290) entering the final round tomorrow morning. No. 9 Virginia still leads the field at 25-under-par 551 (268-283).
Nicklas Pihl jumped to the top of the Miners' scorecard after firing 1-under-par 143 (72-71) to sit in a tie for 22nd. Teammate and recent Miner addition Aaron Terrazas sits two strokes behind in a tie for 35th. The Oklahoma transfer shot 1-over-par 145 (74-71). 
Senior Frederik Dreier share 44th after a second-round score of 74, bringing his tourney total to 2-over-par 146 (72-74). Andreas Sorensen and Charles Corner came in next for the Miners, both shooting 4-over par 148. Sorensen shot rounds of 72 and 76 while Corner marked two rounds of 74. Rounding out the Miners' scorecard is individual Prescott Mann, who is tied for 93rd after shooting 9-over-par 153 (77-76). 
The John A. Burns Intercollegiate will conclude Friday morning at 8:30. Round three will pair the Miners with New Mexico and Arizona in a shotgun start. Live stats will be available via golfstat.com.
